Indie rock at its best is what Baltimore band Sunbathers has created with their latest single “Sugar” – it’s got the right flow of music, the slow and fast pace and as always the cherry on top: a voice that will leave you speechless – Listen to the soundscape created by this band and let Sean’s voice take over the steering wheel and guide through the world of Sugar.
From when we first heard them a year ago with 'Intimacy', the Washington DC/Baltimore indie rock quintet have never offered anything less than bliss. Sean Lynott once again hits the falsetto high notes on this new track released this week, where they work perfectly around sweetly tuned synth, percussion and effective drums.

The Baltimore/DC based band are back with a new track titled “Sugar”. We have been impressed with the band ever since sharing their track “Intimacy” late last year.
The quintet return with “Sugar” and it’s a beautiful 4:30 of awesomeness. The vocals always impress us with Mr. Lynott’s amazing range. The melody is addicting and the mixture of synth and percussion throughout have the band poised to reach a myriad of fans who enjoy anthemic indie rock, synthpop and dream pop alike.
Sunbathers are comprised of Sean Lynott (Vocals/Synth) Peter Mindnich (Guitar/Vocals) Tim Boate (Guitar) Peter Leonard (Bass), and Shohsei Oda (Drums).

DMV indie rockers and Digital High fave’s Sunbathers are back at it with track “Sugar,” a first taste of new material since the band released“Lovepeak” earlier this year.
The cut, like its title suggests, starts off sweetly and honeyed before picking up the pace, turning into a full-on rock-out sesh as the swift moving riffs and uptempo percussion coalesce around the band’s signature harmonies. It’s an easy listen and one you’ll want to put on repeat.

I bathe euphorically in Sunbather’s new tune, Sugar, a beautiful pastiche of dreamy synthpop and luscious folk tinged rock. And I find it impossible not to feel like I’m lifting right off the ground and floating straight into the sky. The DC and Baltimore based five piece band presents us with string rippling Bon Iver like lushness mixed with a generous helping of The 1975′s sun dappled, synth permeated splendor. Sugar is a ravishing preview of what’s to come from Sunbathers. The song can be downloaded directly from Soundcloud.
DMV-based five-piece Sunbathers just released an electric new track called “Sugar.” It’s an appropriate title for a song that goes down so sweet, largely in part due to falsetto harmonies, twinges of 8-bit like electronic moments and cinematic, pounding drums. “Sugar” is off of an upcoming followup to last year’s self-titled debut EP.
Here’s what Sunbathers had to say about the new track:
“Sugar” represents the clearest definition of our sound to date. Diving deeper into experimentation with both our diverse range of influences and newfound production abilities led us to a song we feel captures our current essence as a band. With more experience under our belts, our approach became much more precise – sometimes almost painstakingly so – fine-tuning drum tones, synth sounds, and vocal melodies. We afforded ourselves more time to pay attention to those minute details we may have rushed over in the past, allowing for a more intentional songwriting process. The resulting song is one we are proud to stand behind as a statement of who we are as a band, as well as where we intend to go.
With Summer just round the corner, everyone is prone to frantically add new tracks to their music taste. Whether it’s because a festival is next on the calendar or a long road trip to the beach, Baltimore based, Sunbathers have you covered with Lovepeak.
Charming fans with their wash of indie-rock, dream-pop tracks, Lovepeak will pull at heart strings. It creeps into action, panning synths circle lead singer, Sean’s voice as he sings in a fanciful falsetto whilst drum beats remain fickle. An eruption of sounds edge closer until the track crosses paths for a chaotic chorus – they grip energy in both hands.
Sunbathers bring back the excitement of going on holiday, the thought of summer and all the perks that go alongside. A track that can melt hearts, lather on that sunscreen and dive right into Lovepeak.
